Lamproom Youth Theatre Ensemble is an independent youth theatre company.
It is a non-profit organisation enabled by the presence of the Barnsley Lamproom
Theatre and managed by experienced local performers and directors. LYTE’s is a lively
and enthusiastic drama group for young people aged from 12 to 21 years serving Barnsley
and the surrounding areas. LYTE’s aim to give young people a chance to experience
all aspects of theatre production and performance in a friendly and supportive environment.
The group produce high quality productions and aim to deliver two show a year. The
group meet on a weekly basis usually on a Thursday at the Polish Club Summer Lane,
Barnsley, but prior to a show this can become a daily basis! LYTE’s are based at

In addition to the youth theatre, the Lamproom Theatre is home to the LampLYTEr’s,
with members aged 4 - 11 years, The Lamproom Musical Theatre Company and the Lamproom
